Coming to you from Doc's Crocks is this wonderful 1 Gallon Batter Jug made and stamped by "F. H. Cowden, Harrisburg." 

 

This is the mark of John Wallace Cowden who ran the company with this stamp from 1880-1888 (Phil Shaltenbrand, Big Ware Turners, pp. 55-58)

 

The front features a Cobalt Floral Under the Spout and the back features the Pottery Stamp with Cobalt Wash, and a Snowflake Decoration.  Additional cobalt accents at the handle terminals and tipping handle.  Retains an old bail handle.  Stands 8 1/2" tall

 

Very Good Condition with Minor Restoration.  The left ear that holds on the handle has been restored.  Otherwise, the jug has no chips, hairlines, cracks, stains, or restoration.  Kiln touch to the right of the snowflake in the making.
