Coming to you from Doc's Crocks is this superb 9 1/4" Tanware Pitcher from New Geneva, Pennsylvania.

During the 1880's, the pottery at New Geneva hosted picnics on their grounds and made these pitchers as souvenirs.

This example is better than most due to its large size and exquisite decoration.  This beauty features a Classic Form with Flared Rim, Pinched Spout, Tall Neck, Bulbous Base, and Applied Handle.  The neck features an unusual double center banding and a slightly rounded base.  Decoration is exceptional.  From the top down is a Lincoln drape around the rim, solid stripe mid-neck, squiggle stripe on the base of the neck, stripe at the shoudler, three large fuchsia with vining all the way around the base to touch in the back (lots of freehand!), stripe at the base, and accents on the handle terminals.  Much to admire here!  Stands 9 1/8" tall.

Excellent Condition. Three minor pinhead-size nibbles on the brown slip on the rim.  That's it!  No base chips, hairlines, cracks, stains, or restoration.
