Coming to you from Doc's Crocks is this Rare 1/2 Gallon Stoneware Jar.
The decoration indicates that it was made by Henry Benner of Baltimore, Maryland. Benner was trained by William H. Amoss and was the brother-in-law to David Parr. Attribution is made from the only know signed example with similar decoration sold by Crockerfarm, Summer 2026, lot 93 and their writeup of the history.
This beauty features a Tooled Squared Rim and Comma Vining Around the Shoulder from Which Four Tulips Dangle and Additional Comma Vining Below. The additional vining really make for strong visual appeal. Stands 8 1/4" tall.
Excellent Condition. Four minor 1/8" nibbles on the rim. That's it! No inner rim or base chips, hairlines, cracks, stains, or restoration.
