Coming to you from Doc's Crocks is this gorgeous 1/2 Gallon Wax Sealer Canning Jar from Southwestern Pennsylvania.  

 

It was likely made by James Hamilton or Hamilton and Jones of Greensboro, Pennsylvania.

 

Circa 1880, this beauty features the Wax Sealer Form with Grooved Rim for the Sealing Wax, Tapered Sides, and Broad Cobalt Stripes Top and Bottom that Frame a Large Center Emblem on a Diagonal.   All the cobalt is rich and shiny on a light gray glaze.  Truly a great look.  Stands 8 1/2" tall.

 

Excellent Condition.  An 1/8" nibble inside the rim, a narrow 1/4" flake on the bottom ring of the tooled rim, and a 1/4" chip at the base.  That's it!  No outer rim chips, hairlines, cracks, stains, or restoration.
