Coming to you from Doc's Crocks is this great 8 Gallon Decorated Stoneware Churn
Its form and decoration indicate that it was made by A. P. Donaghho, Parkersburg, West Virginia (1874-1900).
This beauty features a Large 8 Gallon Size, Wide Rim with Inner Lid Seating Ring, Applied Grooved Handles, "Flying" Capacity Number, and Three "Tire Tracks" that Look like Jets of Fire from a Flamethrower. All the stencilingn is complete and crisp.
Very Good Condition. Shallow 1/2" chip inside the right handle, and a Y-shaped hairline on the back that is 4" tall with arms 4" long (closeup 1- pointer is at the crux of the Y). No rim or base chips, cracks, stains, or restoration. A 9" drying/firing line inside at the bottom in the making not showing outside (closeup 2).
