Item 13085
Coming to you from Doc's Crocks is this wonderful 1/2 Gallon Stoneware Jar with Leaf Garland.
It is easily attributed to Richard Remmey who ran the family pottery in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania from the 1860's until the turn of the century (Phil Shaltenbrand, Big Ware Turners, pp. 8-10).
Circa 1870, this beauty features a Squared Rim, Tooled Shoulder, and a Garland of Four Brushed Cobalt Leaves Around the Middle. The decoration is exuberant and the cobalt is rich and shiny. Stands 8 1/2" tall.
Excellent Condition. A tiny 1/8" nibble on the rim. That's it! No inner rim or base chips, hairlines, cracks, stains, or restoration.
