Item 8080

Coming to you from Doc's Crocks is this Intriguing 1 Gallon Jar with Eye-Pleasing Decoration.

Circa 1870 and coming from Eastern Pennsylvania, this beauty features 8 Units of Brushed Cobalt Comma Vining all Around the Middle, and 16 Dots Accenting Them!  Bright cobalt on a light gray glaze makes for a strong and desired contrast.  Stands 10 1/4" tall.

Not a decoration I have seen more than a couple other times.

Very Good Condition.  A faint 1 1/2" hairline from the rim not seen inside (closeup 1), two vertical hairlines at the base (1", 2 1/2") that wrap under and connect to a line near the edge (closeups 2 & 3), and a narrow 1" chip on the underside at the edge.   No rim chips, stains, or restoration.  A stone ping on one vine in the making.
