    Coming to you from Doc's Crocks is this wonderful 3 Gallon Jar attributed to Richard Remmey of Philadelphia.

     

    Richard Remmey ran the family pottery in Philadelphia from the 1860's until the turn of the century (Phil Shaltenbrand, Big Ware Turners, pp. 8-10).

     

    Dating to the 1860's, this beauty features a Tall 3 Gallon Size, Tooled Rim and Shoulder, and a Garland of 3 Brushed Cobalt Florals Around the Middle.  Each floral has 12 to 14 leaves and 10-13 petals of strong cobalt.  Stands 14" tall.

     

    Very Good Condition.  Three narrow chips inside the rim (inside picture at bottom), and 8 vertical surface-only firing lines at the base (1" to 2"- closeup).   No outer rim or base chips, hairlines, cracks, stains, or restoration.
