Coming to you from Doc's Crocks is this wonderful 1/2 Gallon Decorated Ovoid Stoneware Jar.

This jar is easily attributed to Richard Remmey who made stoneware in Philadelphia at the family pottery from the 1860's to the turn of the century (Phil Shaltenbrand, Big Ware Turners, pp. 8-9).

Circa 1860, this beauty features a Semi-Ovoid Form, Tall Rim, Ringed Shoulder Band, Rounded Footer, and a Garland of Three Sideways Cobalt Tulips Around the Middle.  The tulips have 9-12 leaves and a blossom with 4 petals.  Gorgeous cobalt too!  Stands 8" tall.

Very Good Condition.  Two adjacent 3/8" chips inside the rim, and three adjacent chips outside the rim (1/4" to 1/2").  No base chips, hairlines, cracks, stains, or restoration.
