Coming to you from Doc's Crocks is this Gorgeous Large 3 Gallon Decorated Stoneware Ovoid Jar. 

 

The decoration indicates that it was probably made by Jonathan and William Ingell who ran their pottery in Taunton, Massachusetts in the 1830's to 1840's (William Ketchum, Jr., American Stoneware, p. 50). 

 

This beauty features a Larger Size, Ovoid Form, Tall Tooled Rim, Inscribed Shoulder, Deep Applied Handles with Cobalt Accents at the Handles Terminals, and a Bulbous Body with a Brushed Cobalt Floral with Two Leaves and Large Drooping Blossom.  Stands 13 1/2" tall. 

 

Excellent Condition.  Two 1/4" chips on the bottom edge.  That's it!  No rim chips, hairlines, cracks, stains, or restoration.  A 2 1/4" surface drying/firing line at the base in the making and glazed over (closeup).  Remarkable condition for being nearly 200 years old.
