Coming to you from Doc's Crocks, is this early 7 1/4" Stoneware Jug.
This beauty might be attributed to Frederick Carpenter who worked in Charlestown, Massachusetts from 1804-1827 and made pieces for the Boston market (William Ketchum, Jr., American Stoneware, pp. 48-49).
This jug has a great small and narrow, almost "Bottle" Form with Tooled Spout and Shoulder, and Ochre Dip on the Top and Bottom. Stands 7 1/4" tall.
Excellent Condition. A single 1/8" nibble on the base. Otherwise, as made.
