Coming to you from Doc's Crocks is this wonderful 1 Gallon Ovoid Jug attributed to Branch Green who founded a pottery in Philadelphia in 1809 and ran it until 1827 (Phil Shaltenbrand, Big Ware Turners, p. 7).
 
This beauty features the Early Ovoid Form, Reeded Spout, and 4 Splashes of Cobalt Around the Shoulder so Typical of Green Stoneware.   Stands 11" tall.
 
Excellent Condition.  Some chipping around the base (1/2" to 1/8".  No spout chips, hairlines, cracks, stains, or restoration.
