Coming to you from Doc's Crocks is this wonderful Blue and White Spongeware Lidded Salt Crock.

Dating to the late 19th century, this beauty features a Chain Pattern as Top and Bottom Border with "Salt" Stenciled in the Middle.  Original hinged wooden lid.  Measures 5 3/4" to the top of the hanger and 5 3/4" in diameter across the base.  
 
Excellent Condition.  A minor 1/8" nibble inside the rim and minor wear on the edge of the hanger.  Otherwise as made.  The lid has a small break behind the left hinge and replacement hinges.
