Coming to you from Doc's Crocks is this attractive Blue and White Stoneware Pitcher in the Grazing Cow Pattern.
It was made by the A. E. Hull Pottery Company of Ohio in the early 1900's and was marketed as a "Dairy Jug."
This beauty features a Medallion with Two Grazing Cows on Each Side, with a Top and Bottom Rope and Scroll Border and a Rope Handle. Cobalt accent to the decoration. Strong and crisp mold lines too! (Terry Taylor and Terry and Kay Lowrance, Collector's Encyclopedia of Salt Glaze Stoneware, pp. 52-54)
This pitcher came in 3 sizes, and this is the 8" size. Very strong mold lines on this example.
Excellent Condition. Light staining inside, a minor pinhead-size nibble on the spout, and a 3/8" chip on the underside inside the foot ring. No rim chips, hairlines, cracks, or restoration.
