Item 12324
Coming to you from Doc's Crocks is this wonderful 4 Gallon Crock made and stamped by "G. W. Fulper and Bros., Flemington, N. J."
This is the mark of George Fulper and his brothers who ran the family pottery under this arrangement from 1881-1890 (see M. Lelyn Branin, The Early Makers of Handcrafted Earthenware and Stoneware in Central and Southern New Jersey, pp. 132-137).
This beauty features the Pottery Stamp with Cobalt Wash, and the main features, a Bird on a Stump Decoration. The artist who drew this birdie was very skilled and the cobalt he used was rich and shiny. Measures 11" tall and 11 1/2" wide across the top.
Excellent Condition. A 1/2" chip on the rim above the right handle. That's it! No inner rim or base chips, hairlines, cracks, stains, or restoration. A surface drying line inside at the bottom and on the underside near the outside edge in the making.
