Coming to you from Doc's Crocks is this wonderful 2 Gallon Preserve Jar made and stamped by the "Ballard Vale Stoneware Co."
This company resided in Ballard Vale, Massachusetts around the 1870's
This beauty features the Pottery Stamp with Cobalt Wash and a Delicate Flowering Plant Created with a Slip Cup in Bright and Shiny Cobalt. All the leaves surround a center blossom. Stands 12" tall.
Very Good Condition. Some water glass staining rings inside, wear around the seating ring where a lid would sit, a narrow 1" chip inside the rim and two small chips outside the rim (1/4", 3/8"), and chips on the right handle. No base chips, hairlines, cracks, or restoration. Two faint 1" vertical surface firing lines from stone pings in the making on the right side and back, wrapping under 1" and 2" respectively (closeups).
