Item 13170

Coming to you from Doc's Crocks is this Tiny 1/2 Gallon Decorated Jar.

This is most likely the work of Madison Woodruff who ran the only pottery in Cortland, N.Y. from 1849-1885.  He liked to make 1/2 gallon jars and jugs, many of which have quite unique decorations  (William Ketchum, Jr., American Stoneware , p. 71).

This beauty sports the Tiny 7 1/2" Size and a Brushed Cobalt Tulip Decoration.  I have included a lid that is not original, but fits well for size and color.

Excellent Condition.  A 1/2" chip on the rim in the back.  That's it!  No inner rim or base chips, hairlines, cracks, stains, or restoration.  The chip on the front of the rim is a stone ping in the making and glazed over.
