Coming to you from Doc's Crocks is this gorgeous Blue and White Spongeware Pitcher in the Old Fashioned Garden Rose Pattern.
This beauty is featured in Taylor and Lowrance, Collector's Encyclopedia of Salt Glaze Stoneware, pp. 63-64.
Dating to the early 20th century, this beauty bears an Embossed Single-Stemmed Rose on Each Side. Crisp mold lines. The sponging is applied in dark and glossy cobalt in the Smoke Ring Pattern. Sponging in deep cobalt in 7 Columns of 5 Smoke Rings. Stands 9 1/4" tall.
Excellent Condition. An minor 1/8" wear spot on the tip of the spout and some minor 1/8" nibbles on the bottom edge on one side. That's it! No outer rim chips, hairlines, cracks, stains, or restoration.
