Coming to you from Doc's Crocks is this Impressive 5 Gallon Jug whose decoration indicates that is was mad by D. P. Shenfelder of Reading, Pennsylvania." 
 
Daniel Shenfelder made pottery in Reading, Pennsylvania from approximately 1860-1900 (Phil Shaltenbrand, Big Ware Turners, pp. 24-26).
 
This beauty features a Large Size with Two Brushed Cobalt Tulips running Up the Front.  The tulip is the Shenfelder design and this version has 10 base leaves and 2 stems with 6 leaves and a blossom with 4 petals each.   Stands 17 1/2" tall.  
 
Excellent Condition.  A line through the handle (closeup).  Otherwise as made.
