Coming to you from Doc's Crocks is this wonderful 1 Gallon Ovoid Pot attributed to Clarkson Crolius, Sr. of Manhattan, New York.
Clarkson Crolius Sr. made pottery in New York from 1800 to 1838 (William Ketchum, Jr., American Stoneware, p. 62).
Circa 1820, this beauty features the Ovoid Form, Tooled Rim and Shoulder, and a Freehand Cobalt Drape around the Shoulder. Stands 8 1/4" tall.
Excellent Condition. A 1/2" chip inside and outside the rim, and a 1/4" chip at the base. That's it! No hairlines, cracks, stains, or restoration. Slightly convex on the bottom in the making.
