Item 12896
Coming to you from Doc's Crocks is this wonderful 1 Gallon Jug whose form and decoration indicate that it was most likely made by Edward and Thomas Edmands who ran the pottery in Charlestown, Massachusetts from 1852-1868 (For more on this pottery, see William Ketchum, Jr., American Stoneware, p. 49).
This beauty features a Bright Cobalt Sideways Flower with Four Leaves and a Blossom with Three Stripes Petals-- one of the Edmands Pottery signature decorations. Stands 11" tall.
Excellent Condition. A 1/4" chip inside the spout and a 1" surface ping line on the left side of the spout (closeup). That's it! No base chips, hairlines, cracks, or restoration.
