Coming to you from Doc's Crocks is this wonderful 1 1/2 Gallon Jar whose decoration makes it easy to attribute to Richard Remmey of Philadelphia.

Richard Remmey ran the family pottery in Philadelphia from the 1860's until the turn of the century (Phil Shaltenbrand, Big Ware Turners, pp. 8-10).

Dating to the 1860's, this beauty features a Garland of 4 Leaves Around the Middle, Each Leaf with Eight Fronds. Strong cobalt on a light gray glaze for a robust contrast.  Stands 11 3/4" tall.

Excellent Condition.  Three small chips on the rim (1/8" to 1/4"), and some light staining in places.  That's it!  No inner rim or base chips, hairlines, cracks, or restoration.
