Coming to you from Doc's Crocks is this wonderful 3 Gallon Stoneware Crock made and stamped by "Wm. E. Warner, West Troy."
This is the mark of William E. Warner who ran a pottery in West Troy, N.Y. in the 1840's and 1850's (William C. Ketchum, Jr., American Stoneware, pp. 67-68).
This beauty features Tooled Rim with a Groove for Tying a Cover Over the Top, the Pottery Stamp with Cobalt Wash, and a Unique Floral with Three Different Kinds of Blossoms, a Bud, and Dotted and Frilly Stem. Measures 9 3/4" tall and 10 1/2" wide across the top.
Excellent Condition. A 1/4" chip on the top of the rim in the back, a 1/2" chip on the bottom in the back, and some light scattered stains. That's it! No outer rim chips, hairlines, cracks, or restoration.
