Coming to you from Doc's Crocks is this wonderful 3 Gallon Stoneware Jar.  
 
Its glaze and decoration indicates that it was made by the Whelchel Family of Gaffney, South Carolina.
 
Dating to the late 19th century, this beauty features a Tan to Cream Alkaline Glaze and a Triple Daisy Design created with an Iron Slip.  Stands 13 3/4" tall. 
 
Excellent Condition.  Wear and minor chipping around the lid-seating ring, a 1/2" chip inside the rim, a couple 1/4" chips on the center right side, a 1 1/2" chip on the underside of the left side, and a 2 1/2" vertical line on the front bottom that wraps under 3".  No outer rim chips, cracks, stains, or restoration.
