Coming to you from Doc's Crocks is this wonderful 1/2 Gallon Stoneware Jar from "D. F. Haynes & Co., Crown Brand, Baltimore, M.D." 
 
It was made in Southwest Pennsylvania, probably at Greensboro by one of the Hamilton Potteries. 
 
Dating about 1880, this beauty features Two Top and a Bottom Stripe that Frame the Company Advertising that Surrounds a Center Crown. Obviously the crown represents the "crown brand."  One of the few non-floral images found in SW Pennsylvania stoneware decoration.  Stands 8" tall. 
 
Excellent Condition.  A 1/4" chip inside the rim.  That's it!  No outer rim or base chips, hairlines, cracks, stains, or restoration.
