Coming to you from Doc's Crocks is this 2 Gallon Stoneware Jar made by Hamilton and Jones, Greensboro, PA. 
 
This is the work of Frank Hamilton and John Jones who worked in Greensboro, Pennsylvania from 1865 to 1897 (Phil Shaltenbrand, Big Ware Turners, pp. 154-157). 
 
Circa 1880, this beauty features Three Top Stripes and Two Bottom Stripes that Frame the Company Advertising in an Arch Around the Capacity Number.  Stands 12" tall.
 
Good Condition. A faint 5" vertical in-body hairline reaching neither top or bottom on the left side (closeup) and modest surface wear.  No chips, cracks, stains, or restoration.
