Coming to you from Doc's Crocks is this Exquisitely Molded Rye Whiskey Jug by Whites Pottery of Utica, New York.

The jug was made for "White Rose Rye Whiskey, P. J. Bowlin Liquor Co., St. Paul, Minn."

This beauty features exquisite detailing that only the Whites Pottery of Utica, New York could do in its heyday of making molded stoneware (1890-1907).

The jug sports Top to Bottom Decoration. A series of beads adorn the base of the spout, as does a small placard reading, "Pure Rye." An intricate garland of flowers decorates the shoulder. Between two fancy borders, one side features the label with a bouquet of roses to the left, and the other side features an entire rose bush. The handle is made to look like the wood of a rose stem.

This jug came in two sizes- 8 1/2" and 6" (both sizes pictured).  This is the larger size.

Exceptional Condition.  As made.  No damage of any kind.  The "E" of "Rose" has a kiln touch in the making (closeup).
