Coming to you from Doc's Crocks is this wonderful Exquisitely Molded Jug by Whites of Utica featuring a Rabbit Hunt.

It was made between 1890 and 1907 when Whites made its fabulous molded stoneware.  You can see this jug in The Blue and the Gray: Oneida County Stoneware by Christopher Bensch, p. 23.

This beauty features a Dog Scouting for a Rabbit Running in the Opposite Direction on One Side, and the Rabbit in the Dog's Mouth on the Other Side. Apparently the dog was eventually successful! Details of fences, trees and grass provide the background. The border above the scenes is a row of raised dots and fleur de lis, and the below the scene is another row of raised dots and the base dipped in cobalt. The spout sports a row of dots around the base, and a handle made to look like tree bark. Strong mold lines and coloration. Stands 7 3/4" tall.

Exceptional Condition. As made.  No damage of any kind.  Typical manufacturing imperfections.
