Coming to you from Doc's Crocks is this impressive Lidded Stein by Whites Pottery of Utica, New York.
This stein dates to 1890 to 1907 when Whites made its excellent molded stoneware and is a testiment to the quality of the stoneware they made.
This beauty features Leafy Top and Bottom Fancy Borders that Frame Two Scenes. One is in a stone wine cellar with one man seated on a barrel listening to a monk play a mandolin as they are served by a barmaid and bar tender. The other scene is an elaborate floral. A serpent forms the handle and holds the metal lid. The metal lid has a great eagle beak as a final Cobalt accent everywhere. Stands 13 1/4" tall.
Excellent Condition. Some wear to the finish around the edge of the metal lid. That's it! No chips, hairlines, cracks, stains, or restoration.
