    Coming to you from Doc's Crocks is this wonderful Nosegay Club Cheese Jar. This cheese was made by Burrell and Whitman of Little Falls, N.Y.

     

    This piece was made by the Whites Pottery of Utica, New York between 1890 and 1907 when they made their skillful molded stoneware. This piece is featured in Christopher Bensch, The Blue and the Gray: Oneida County Stoneware, p. 27.

     

    This beauty features a background of raised semi-circles and the "Nosegay Club Cheese, Trade Mark" Surrounding a Center Rose-- all Accented in Cobalt. The lid repeats the semi-circular design. Measures 3 3/4" tall.

     

    Excellent Condition. A minor nibble on the underside of the lid.  Otherwise mint!  A 1/2" salt drip on the left side in the making.
