Coming to you from Doc's Crocks is this wonderful 1 Gallon Stoneware Bowl made for "W. D. Cooper and Bro., No. 7, Diamond, Pitts."
Cooper was a merchant who had stoneware made in Greensboro, Pennsylvania.
Circa 1880, this beauty features a Thick Tooled Rim with Two Grooves that allows for easily tying a cover the top, a Cobalt Stripe accenting the top, and the Company Advertising in a complete stencil. All the Cobalt is bright and beautiful on a medium gray glaze for strong contrast. Measures 5 3/4" tall and 9 1/2" wide across the top.
Excellent Condition. Wear inside at the bottom and a 1/2" chip inside the rim. No outer rim or base chips, hairlines, cracks, stains, or restoration. Mottled glaze in the making.
