Coming to you from Doc's Crocks is this Rare 3 Gallon Stoneware Jar made and stamped by "J. McKenzie, Beaver, PA." 
 
This is the stamp of Jonathan McKenzie who worked in Beaver, Pennsylvania from around 1845 through the 1860's (Phil Shaltenbrand, Big Ware Turners, pp. 133-34).  
 
Pieces with this mark are uncommon.  
 
This beauty features a Flat Squared Rim, Tappered Sides, Thick Handles with Cobalt Handles, the Pottery Stamp,and a Brushed Cobalt Vine with Four Blossoms.  Measures 11 1/2" tall and 11" wide across the top.
 
Excellent Condition.  Two minor nibbles and a 3/8" chip inside the rim, and four chips outside the rim (1/2" to 3/4").  That's it!  No base chips, hairlines, cracks, stains, or restoration.
