Item 5384
Coming to you from Doc's Crocks is this wonderful 1 Gallon Cream Pot made for "Wm Haslage & Co., Grocers and Tea Dealers, No 18 Diamond, Pitts."
This jar was made in SW Pennsylvania, probably at Greensboro.
Dating about 1880, this beauty features a Top and Two Bottom Stripe that Frame the 6 Lines of Stenciled Advertising. The cobalt advertising is strong and contrasts very well with the light gray glaze. Measures 8 1/2" tall and 8" wide across the top.
The reference to "Tea Dealers" adds extra interest.
Excellent Condition. A surface-only Y-shaped craze line below the rim on the right side not visible inside (closeup). That's it! No rim or base chips, hairlines, cracks, stains, or restoration.
A very nice piece of Pittsburgh stoneware and business history.
