    Coming to you from Doc's Crocks is this wonderful 2 Gallon Preserve Jar attributed to Beaver, Pennsylvania.

     

    Dating around 1870, this beauty features a Carefully Tooled Rim, Inscribed Shoulder, and a Freehand Vine with Two Tulips-- all in Rich Brushed Cobalt.  A "2" capacity number at the base and cobalt accents at the handle terminals complete the decoration.  Stands 11 1/4" tall.

     

    Excellent Condition.  Minor nibbles around the inner lid seating rim, a 3/8" flat chip on the back of the left handle, and three chips at the base (1/4", 1/2", 1").  No outer rim chips, hairlines, cracks, stains, or restoration.
