Coming to you from Doc's Crocks is this uncommon 4 Gallon Stoneware Jar made and stamped by "McKenzie & Jackson, Beaver, PA."
This is the stamp of Hamilton McKenzie and Thomas Jackson who made pottery in Beaver in the 1860's and 1870's (Phil Shaltenbrand, Big Ware Turners, pp. 133-34).
This beauty featuare a Tall Jar Form with the Pottery Stamp and Two Tulips Dancing Across the Front. Additional cobalt at the handle terminals. Stands 14 1/4" tall.
Very Good Condition. Six small chips outside the rim (1/4" to 1/2"), a 1/4" chip on the left handle, and a faint and tight 5" in-body vertical hairline below the right handle reaching neither top or bottom (closeup). No inner rim or base chips, cracks, stains, or restoration.
