Coming to you from Doc's Crocks, is this wonderful 1 1/2 Gallon Jar made and stamped by "T. Anderson. " This is the work of Thomas Anderson who built and operated a pottery in West Lebanon, Indiana County, Pennsylvania from about 1830 to about 1863 (see Phil Shaltenbrand, Big Ware Turners, p. 108).
This beauty features a Tooled Rim and Shoulder with Recess for Tying a Cover Over the Top, the Pottery Stamp in Large Letters Impressed on the Shoulder, and Two Brushed Cobalt Tulips. The tulips each have 6 leaves and a blossom with 4 petals. Stands 10 3/4" tall.
Very Good Condition. Three 1/2" chips inside and two chips outside the rim (1/8", 1/2"), and some scattered staining. No base chips, hairlines, cracks, or restoration.
