Coming to you from Doc's Crocks is this wonderful and uncommon 3 Gallon Stoneware Ovoid Jug made and stamped by "J. Clark & Co., Troy."
 
This is the stamp of John Clark who ran his pottery with this stamp from 1826 to 1828.  His business partners were Curtis Wilbur and Horace Humiston (Warren Broderick and William Bouck, Pottery Works: Potteries of New York State's Capital District and Upper Hudson Region, pp. 124-126). 
 
This beauty sports a Larger Size, Ovoid Shape, Pottery Stamp with Cobalt Wash, and a Brushed Cobalt Tree Decoration.  Stands 14 1/4" tall.   
 
Excellent Condition.  A narrow 1/4" flake on the right side of the spout, a salt drip that came off to the right of the tree trunk, and light scattered staining.  No base chips, hairlines, cracks, or restoration.
