Coming to you from Doc's Crocks is this Rare Lidded Teapot Signed by the Noted Potter, Everette Busbee.

Everette Busbee (1943-2020) was a Renaissance man with degrees in English, zoology, art, and ceramics.  He was most active in making pottery in the mid-to-late 1980's. He is known for wood-fired stoneware and low-fired earthenware.  His pottery is found in both simple earth tones and in brightly colored pieces inspired by Spanish pottery of the Renaissance.  His pottery is found in the New Orleans Museum of Art; Gardiner Museum, Toronto; Scripps College, Claremont, CA; Nora Eccles Harrison Museum  of Art, Logan, UT; San Angelo Museum of Fine Art, TX; and the Kamm Teapot Foundation, Statesville, NC.

This teapot recently emerged from a very long time in storage.  It is a Simplified Version of Chinese Yixingware that was made from the Ming Dynasty (1368-1644) onward.  This version has a mid-century modern futuristic look as well as a southwest USA look.  Bold exagerrated lines.  It is signed on the bottom by the potter.  Stands 10 1/2" tall to the top of the lid.

It is no wonder that Busbee's teapots are in the Kamm Teapot Foundation in Statesville, NC.

Exceptional Condition.  As made.  No damage of any kind.
