Coming to you from Doc's Crocks is this Rare Blue and White Spongeware Salt Crock in the Blackberry on Basketweave Pattern. 
 
This beauty features a Basketweave Background with "Salt" Embossed on the Front with Cobalt Accent and Bunches of Blackberries on Each Side.  Measures 5 3/4" tall to the top of the hanger, and 5 3/4" wide across the base.
 
You can find a fine writeup on this pattern in just the blue and white on plain background in Terry Taylor and and Terry and Kay Lowrance's, Collector's Encyclopedia of Salt Glaze Stoneware , p. 127.   This is a rare pattern not represented in spongeware in the books and only the 3rd one I have ever seen. 
 
Excellent Condition.  A 1/2" glaze flake on the underside.  That's it!  No rim chips, hairlines, cracks, stains, or restoration.  A 1" surface drying/firing line inside, and a 3/8" straw void on the left side rim-- both in the making.
