Item 1332
Coming to you from Doc's Crocks is this Rare Doe and Fawn Pitcher in Spongeware.
Dating to the 1900-1920 period, this pitcher features a Doe and Fawn Standing under a Tree on Each Side. Typically these pitchers are either all blue or a diffused blue and white. This one is white with cobalt sponging and a touch of pink. It is the only of its kind that I have ever seen.
Excellent condition. No chips, hairlines, cracks, stains, or restoration. A faint 1 1/2" surface line from the rim inside not seen outside (closeup).
A rare piece of blue and white stoneware.
