Coming to you from Doc's Crocks is this wonderful 1 Gallon Blue and White Spongeware Pitcher.
According to older dealers here in Ohio, it was made near Navarre, Ohio.
Dating around 1880, this beauty is hand-turned in heavy clay with a bulbous form and pinched spout, with blue spongeware on a cream-colored base glaze. A true piece of country spongeware.
Excellent condition. Two chips inside the rim (1/4", 5/8"), and a chip on the bottom (1/4"). That's it! No outer rim chips, hairlines, cracks, stains, or restoration.
A fine piece of primitive country spongeware.
