Coming to you from Doc's Crocks is this superb 3 Gallon Stoneware Crock made by "R. T. Williams, New Geneva, PA." 
 
This is the work of Robert T. Williams who worked in New Geneva, PA from 1882 to 1895 (Phil Shaltenbrand, Big Ware Turners , pp. 168-170).
 
This beauty features a Tooled Rim with a Groove for Tying a Cover Over the Top, a Top and Bottom Stripe, the Company Advertising in Large Letters Surrounding a Floral in the Middle, and a Large Freehand Capacity Number Flanked by Dashes at the Bottom. Measures 11 1/4" tall and 10 1/4" wide across the top.
 
This piece was fired with wood and not coal as Wiliams later used, so it has a light coloration and bold, dark cobalt-- a combination that provides strong contrast.
