Coming to you from Doc's Crocks is this wonderful 1 Gallon Stoneware Pitcher stamped "Lyons."
This is the work of Thompson Harrington who ran the pottery in Lyons from 1852 to 1872 (William Ketchum, Jr., American Stoneware, pp. 73-74).
This beauty sports the Classic Pitcher Form with Rolled Rim, Gently Sloping Neck, Tooled Shoulder, Bulbous Base, Pottery Stamp "Lyons" with Cobalt Wash, and a Brushed Cobalt Three Leaf Clover. Stands 10 3/4" tall.
Excellent Condition. As made. A narrow 3/4" chip inside the rim and a 1/4" flake outside the rim. Otherwise, as made.
