Coming to you from Doc's Crocks is this wonderful 1 Gallon Stoneware Wax Sealer Canning Jar made by "Jas. Hamilton & Co., Greensboro, PA."
 
James Hamilton ran his pottery in Greensboro from the 1860's to 1880 (Phil Shaltenbrand, Big Ware Turners, pp. 154-157). 
 
Dating to the 1870's, this beauty features a Tooled Rim with Groove for the Wax Sealer, Tapered Sides, and Two Top and One Bottom Stripe Framing the Company Advertising Surrounding a Lily Pad.  Light gray glaze and stronger cobalt create a fine contrast.  Stands 9 1/4" tall. 
 
Very Good Condition.  Chips inside the rim as shown. Otherwise, as made!
