Coming to you from Doc's Crocks is this Sweet 1 Gallon Stoneware Jug made by "Jas. Hamilton & Co., Greensboro, PA."
 
James Hamilton ran his pottery in Greensboro from the 1860's to 1880 (Phil Shaltenbrand, Big Ware Turners, pp. 154-157). 
 
Dating to the 1870's, this beauty features a Small Size, Bullet Shape, and the Company Advertising Accented with Dotted Circular Decorations.  The contrast is strong with a light gray glaze hosting the dark and shiny cobalt.  Stands 11" tall. 
 
Excellent Condition. A ping on the side of the handle (closeup) and a 1/4" chip at the base.  That's it!  No spout chips, hairlines, cracks, stains, or restoration.  Mottled glaze in the making.
