    Coming to you from Doc's Crocks is this wonderful 1 Gallon Jar made by "Jas. Hamilton & Co., Greensboro, PA."  

     

    James Hamilton ran his pottery in Greensboro from the 1860's to 1880 (Phil Shaltenbrand, Big Ware Turners, pp. 154-157). 

     

    Dating to the 1870's, this beauty features a Wide Cobalt Stripe and Wavy Stripe at the Top, the Company Advertising Surrounding a Floral in the Middle, and another Wide Cobalt Stripe at the Bottom.  Stands 9 1/2" tall.   

     

    Excellent Condition.   Two narrow 3/4" chips on the bottom edge (right side and back). That's it!  No rim chips, hairlines, cracks, stains, or restoration.  A small kiln touch above "Hamilton" and some mottling in the glaze near the base (right side and back).
