Coming to you from Doc's Crocks is this wonderful 2 Gallon Jar made by "J. Hamilton & Co., Greensboro, PA."  
 
James Hamilton ran his pottery in Greensboro from the 1860's to 1880 (Phil Shaltenbrand, Big Ware Turners, pp. 154-157). 
 
Dating to the 1870's, this beauty features a Broad Square Rim Underscored with a Broad Stripe, the Company Advertising in the Middle, and the Capacity Number Flanked by Leaves at the Bottom.  Stands 11 3/4" tall.
 
Exceptional Condition.  As made.  No damage of any kind.  Some roughness on the rim and a stone ping in the making.
