Coming to you from Doc's Crocks is this wonderful 6 1/4" Stovepipe Wax Sealer Canning Jar made by "Jas. Hamilton & Co., Greensboro, Pa."
James Hamilton ran his pottery in Greensboro from the 1860's to 1880 (Phil Shaltenbrand, Big Ware Turners, pp. 154-157).
Dating to the 1870's, this beauty features the Stovepipe Form, Wax Sealer Grooved Rim, and the Paisley-Shaped Advertising Stencil. The stencil is complete and in dark cobalt. Stands 6 1/4" tall.
Very Good Condition. Minor nibbles and a 1/2" chip on the inner rim, a 1/4" chip at the base, and some staining from use. No rim chips, hairlines, cracks, or restoration.
