Coming to you from Doc's Crocks is this wonderful 1 Gallon Stoneware Jar made by "Jas. Hamilton & Co., Greensboro, PA."
 
James Hamilton ran his pottery in Greensboro, Pennsylvania from the 1860's to 1880 (Phil Shaltenbrand, Big Ware Turners, pp. 154-157). 
 
Dating to the 1870's, this beauty features a Top and Bottom Wide Stripe that Frame the Company Advertising in the Center.  The bold cobalt really stands out on the light gray glaze.  A simple, strong look.  Stands 10" tall.
 
One of the best James Hamilton Wax Sealers out there. 
 
Very Good Condition.  Three small chips on the rim (1/8, 3/8", 5/8"), and some scattered light staining.  No inner rim or base chips, hairlines, cracks, or restoration.
