Coming to you from Doc's Crocks is this wonderful 1 Gallon Storage Jar made by "Jas. Hamilton & Co., Greensboro, Pa."  
 
James Hamilton ran his pottery in Greensboro from the 1860's to 1880 (Phil Shaltenbrand, Big Ware Turners, pp. 154-157). 
 
Dating to the 1870's, this beauty features Bold Cobalt Decoration.  The top features a straight and wavy stripe, the middle the Company Advertising,and the bottom a wavy stripe sandwiched between two straight stripes.  Stands 9 3/4" tall.
 
Good Condition. A 5-pointed star hairline on the underside with a couple points going 1" up the side, and some staining from use.  No rim or base chips or restoration.
